Motorcycle Rider Injured in Crash on Kumeyaay Highway (I-8 Freeway)
EL CAJON, Calif. (Oct. 6, 2023) — A car and motorcycle were involved in an accident in El Cajon on Friday morning on the Interstate 8 Freeway.
The collision occurred on the westbound I-8 around 6:17 A.M. on Oct. 6th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The report stated the driver of a silver Ford Mustang sedan apparently changed lanes into the path of the motorcyclist. The motorcycle rider crashed into the back of the Mustang, the report said.
CHP officials noted the driver was “a little panicked” after the collision.
Paramedics responded to help the injured motorcyclist who sustained minor injuries in the collision. Also, a tow truck removed the damaged bike from the I-8 also known as Kumeyaay Highway.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault. There are allegations that the motorcyclist was driving recklessly prior to the accident.
