Man Struck, Killed on N. Second Street in El Cajon
EL CAJON, Calif. (May 19, 2025) — A fatal pedestrian accident happened early Monday morning on North Second Street between Flamingo and El Rey avenues in El Cajon.
The deadly collision, which occurred around 4:45 a.m. on May 19th, happened in the northbound lanes of North Second Street, according to the El Cajon Police Department.
Victim Struck by Vehicle in El Cajon
Police officers and paramedics responded and located a man with major injuries down in the roadway, police said. An ambulance transported him to Sharp Memorial Hospital, but he later died from his injuries at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the 58-year-old driver stopped and cooperated with police officers and the investigation.
The driver told officials the victim was standing in the roadway prior to the collision. Also, the victim was reportedly wearing dark clothing, making it difficult to see him before sunrise.
