Man, 47, Injured in El Cajon Crash on 8 Freeway at 2nd Street
EL CAJON (January 7, 2019) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after a traffic accident on the 8 Freeway at 2nd Street Monday morning, according to FOX 5 News.
The collision took place at approximately 8:05 a.m.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said a 47-year-old man was walking at the 8 Freeway off-ramp to Second Street when for an unknown reason he was struck by a Dodge van.
He was reportedly in the crosswalk when he was hit by the vehicle.

Fire department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and attended to the victim who complained of pain to his leg.
He was immediately taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego for treatment. His name and condition at this time remained unknown.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the 50-year-old man driving the van stopped after hitting the man and cooperated with the authorities.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
