Pedestrian struck and dragged by hit-and-run motorist on Ann Street
EL CAJON, Calif. (Jan. 11, 2019) – A hit-and-run driver struck a man believed to be in his 30s early Friday morning and dragged him through a El Cajon neighborhood.
The El Cajon police department responded to the pedestrian collision which was reported to them just after 6 a.m. in the 500 block of Ann Street near Mary Street.
The incident took place following an alleged argument between the pedestrian and a man in a black SUV, witnesses told police. The SUV started chasing the pedestrian down the street and struck the man, dragging him hundreds of feet before he fell off in the front yard of a home. The driver fled the scene without stopping to help the injured man.
Paramedics rushed the victim by ambulance to Sharp Memorial Hospital. The extent of the man’s injuries were not disclosed in the report.
Police are searching for the suspect driver in the SUV.
