EL CAJON, Calif. (May 29, 2018) — A driver was hospitalized Monday following a collision with a driver being pursued by police, according to On Scene TV.
The crash took place about 8:45 a.m. at the exit from the Interstate 8 Freeway and Main Street in El Cajon.
The crash took place about 8:45 a.m. on Memorial Day. Prior to the collision, a man and woman in a silver Honda were reportedly speeding on the westbound Interstate 8 Freeway near Mollison Avenue. An El Cajon police officer tried to pull them over, but they sped off at the Main Street exit. The vehicle re-entered the freeway and made a U-turn on the freeway and began traveling in the wrong direction. Eventually, the driver exited on Main Street and crashed into a black SUV. The man driving that vehicle was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
Police detained the two suspects in the silver Honda.

Police are investigating this collision to determine if criminal charges will be filed, but it is apparent that the driver in the silver Honda is at fault.
