At Least 1 Hurt in Car Accident on Kumeyaay Highway Monday
El Centro, CA (August 30, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol group reported a suspected DUI car crash that occurred on Interstate 8 early Monday.
At about 2:50 a.m., the CHP logged a road accident involving two vehicles. Initial records indicated the two cars collided in the westbound side of I-8, also known as Kumeyaay Highway. Both cars ended up disabled in the center divider of the freeway near Dogwood Road offramp.
First responders found at the scene a gray Honda Civic, and a Nissan.
When medical personnel arrived, they immediately checked the conditions of all parties involved in the crash. The evaluation revealed at least one person suffered minor injuries as a result of the wreck. Pending confirmation, the name and age of the victim remained undisclosed.

The CHP dispatch mentioned one driver showed signs of intoxication. No immediate information was available on the DUI suspect.
