Boy, 10, Hurt in Dogwood Road Car Accident
EL CENTRO, Calif. (Oct. 25, 2018) –A 10-year-old Herber boy was struck by a car and injured Tuesday as he attempted to cross between stopped traffic on Dogwood Road, according to California Highway Patrol.
The crash took place about 7:47 a.m., just north of State Route 86
The woman who was driving the 2017 Hyundai had been traveling northbound on Dogwood Road. The speed was reportedly about 25 mph. The driver attempted to brake, but was unable to stop before hitting the child.
Paramedics responded and transported the child to El Centro Regional Medical Center. He suffered injuries to his his right leg and right side of the face.
El Centro Crash Investigation
Police are reviewing the evidence and any witness statements to determine fault. The investigation will also consist of looking at measurements of evidence left by the vehicles such as point of impact, final resting positions of the vehicles, skid marks, and gouge marks.
