4 Injured in El Dorado Crash on Highway 49 Near China Hill Road
EL DORADO, CA (June 3, 2022) – Several were hospitalized after a car crash on Highway 49 near China Hill Road in El Dorado.
According to an article published by the Mountain Democrat, the accident took place on Sunday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 1 p.m.
The incident happened on May 29 when a 2004 Toyota Avalon was going north on Highway 49 near China Hill Road in El Dorado. At the same time, a 2012 Acura TL was traveling south.
For an unknown reason, the Toyota crossed into the southbound lane. In the process, the Avalon slammed head-on into the Acura.
Multiple Cars Collide
The California Highway Patrol said a Honda Accord headed north approached and then collided with the Toyota. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
A Roseville man in his 60s driving the Acura, his passenger and the driver of the Accord, an El Dorado Hills woman in her 50s, sustained serious injuries.
The motorist in the Avalon, an Orangeville woman in her 70s, obtained minor injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel took all four patients to the Marshall Hospital for treatment.
The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP forced a stretch of Highway 49 to shut down near China Hill following the wreck.
The cause of the El Dorado crash is still under investigation.
