Highway 50 Sierra crash
1 Seriously Injured in El Dorado County Crash at Highway 50 and Sierra Blanca Drive
EL DORADO COUNTY, CA (April 24, 2021) – A crash seriously injured at least one person at Highway 50 and Sierra Blanca Drive in El Dorado County.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 12 p.m.
Their report said two vehicles collided for an unknown reason. They crashed on the eastbound side of the highway at the intersection with Sierra Blanca Drive.
Car Collision Near Camino and Placerville
CHP described the cars involved as possibly a gray Subaru SUV and a black Toyota Camry. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene near the Camino and Placerville areas.
They found one person who suffered major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then took the patient to the hospital for treatment.
The name of the wounded party and their condition at this time were not released. Meanwhile, officials forced the roadway to shut down following the wreck.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the El Dorado County crash.
