Woman Critically Injured in El Monte Hit-and-Run Crash on Cypress Avenue
EL MONTE, CA (June 2, 2021) – A pedestrian was critically injured after a hit-and-run crash on Cypress Avenue in El Monte.
According to an article published by the KTLA News, the accident took place on Wednesday afternoon. Offices reported the incident at around 3:15 p.m.
Police said a vehicle struck a female pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver hit her in the 4300 block of Cypress Avenue in El Monte.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and then found the woman left lying on the ground. She sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
Pedestrian Hit by Suspected DUI Driver
Medical personnel rushed the victim to the Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center and listed her in critical but stable condition. Officials did not disclose her name.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the male motorist involved did not stop to render aid to the woman and fled the area. They later located the suspect at his home.
Authorities believed that he was under the influence of alcohol when they caught him. El Monte police soon arrested him for hit-and-run.
Officers forced a portion of Cypress Avenue following the hit-and-run crash. The El Monte pedestrian collision is still under investigation.
