One Hurt in Collision on 10 Freeway in El Monte
EL MONTE, Calif. (May 22, 2025) – A three-vehicle wrong-way crash happened early Thursday on the San Bernardino 10 Freeway near Baldwin Avenue in El Monte.
The California Highway Patrol reported the collision around 3:06 a.m. on May 22nd in the eastbound lanes of the freeway. A driver in a black Honda sedan was driving in the wrong direction before crashing into a white vehicle. This set off a multi-vehicle collision.

Paramedics and firefighters from the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and extricated one person who became trapped in the Honda. The man was transported to a hospital due to undisclosed injuries.
Tow trucks removed the damaged vehicles from the freeway and investigators are working to determine fault for the El Monte crash on the 10 Freeway.
The CHP closed the off-ramp of the eastbound freeway while they investigated the circumstances surrounding the crash.
