
Man, 57, ID’d as Victim of Hit-and-run Crash
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (Sept. 18, 2023) — Elder Bardales, 57, of Los Angeles, died Sunday night in a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident in Hollywood at Highland Avenue and Fountain Avenue.
The deadly collision occurred around 10 p.m. on Sept. 17th when a southbound motorist struck the victim due to unknown circumstances.
The victim had been walking in an easterly direction across Highland Avenue when the motorist struck him and fled the scene, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Paramedics responded and located the man in the No. 2 lane of Highland Avenue. Unfortunately, he suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner identified him on its website as Elder Bardales.
Meanwhile, police diverted traffic away from the area to allow them to conduct an investigation.
Furthermore, police later located the suspect and arrested the person on hit-and-run and possibly, vehicular manslaughter charges.
The investigation into the fatal Hollywood pedestrian accident on Highland Avenue is ongoing.
