ROWLAND HEIGHTS, Los Angeles County (January 10, 2017) – An elderly pedestrian was airlifted after an accident in the area of Colima Road and Desire Avenue Tuesday afternoon, according to San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
The collision was reported at 1:10 p.m.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said an 83-year-old Rowland Heights man was crossing the street when he was struck a 2012 Toyota Sienna.
The van was headed north on Desire Avenue when the driver made a left turn to Colima Road and knocked the victim to the ground.
CHP affirmed the elderly man suffered head injuries and abrasions to a knee and left hand. He was flown to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center and was listed in stable condition.
His name was not immediately available.
Meanwhile, the 70-year-old West Covina woman driving the Toyota Sienna at the time reportedly failed to see the pedestrian in the crosswalk. She was unharmed and stayed at the scene.
The incident is still under investigation.
