The accident was reported around 7:10 a.m.
As per the article, a woman in her 70s was found lying in the crosswalk in the front of the center median on Rollins Road. The pedestrian was believed to have been struck by a driver who did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.
The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Her name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, deputies believed at least five vehicles possibly witnessed the fatal incident. Two of those cars were described as a possible white Chevy pickup truck with a camper shell and business markings on the tailgate and rear of the camper shell and a Toyota or similar white midsize king cab pickup truck with black bed liner.
