Head-on Crash Leaves One Injured, One Dead
WHEATLAND, Calif. (Sept. 26, 2023) — Eleazar Perez-Reyez, 22, suffered injuries in a fatal head-on crash Tuesday morning on Highway 65 and Oakley Lane in Wheatland.
The two-vehicle collision occurred around 6:08 a.m. on Sept. 26th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 73-year-old woman driving a 2017 Toyota Corolla reportedly veered into opposing traffic and collided head-on with the 22-year-old driving a 2002 Ford Explorer, according to KCRA.
Paramedics responded and located the woman with major injuries and Eleazar Perez-Reyez with moderate injuries. Sadly, the woman later died following the collision.
Tow trucks removed the damaged vehicles from the roadway.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the crash on Highway 65 in Wheatland.
