Elizabeth Bradshaw, 61, Injured DUI Crash
DATE OF COLLISION: Sunday, September 3rd
September 4, 2018- According to the Press-Democrat, a major injury DUI head-on crash left a Santa Rosa woman badly injured and a Windsor man in jail on Old Redwood Highway over the weekend.
California Highway Patrol officials reported the collision to have occurred at 6:30 a.m. between a Mitsubishi Spider and a second unknown vehicle.
According to reports, George Varela, 47, of Windsor, was the driver headed northbound in the Mitsubishi before veering into southbound lanes directly into the path of the southbound vehicle operated by Elizabeth Bradshaw, 61, of Santa Rosa.
The collision left Bradshaw with major injuries as she was quickly attended to by paramedics and rushed to Memorial Hospital. Her condition has not been updated as of Tuesday afternoon.
George Varela Arrested for DUI and Drug Possession
Meanwhile, George Varela was also injured to a minor degree. He was taken to a hospital as well but determined to have been under the influence as drugs were also found in his possession. He was subsequently taken to Sonoma County Jail where he remains this afternoon.
No additional details have been made available thus far.
