Woman Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Truxtun Avenue
Bakersfield, CA (August 13, 2022) – Elizabeth Jane Vigil, a 59-year-old Bakersfield resident, died following a pedestrian accident that occurred on Truxtun Avenue.
The Bakersfield Now News reported Vigil was crossing the roadway outside of a crosswalk. While mid-block, a Hall facilities maintenance vehicle struck the woman. The horrible crash took place on Just 19, Tuesday.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Bakersfield
Shortly after 4:30 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics rendered first aid to the injured pedestrian, then rushed her to Kern Medical. Sadly, the woman succumbed to her injuries and passed away at the hospital. The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Elizabeth Jane Vigil.
Meanwhile, the driver involved in the unfortunate event reportedly stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation process.
Detectives continue to work at this time to determine liability in the deadly accident that happened on Truxtun Avenue in Bakersfield.
