
Elizabeth Ybarra, 53, ID’d as Suspect in Parlier Fatal Pedestrian Crash
PARLIER, CA (February 24, 2023) – Authorities detained Elizabeth Ybarra after a pedestrian crash killed a student in Parlier.
Police identified the 53-year-old woman as the suspect in the fatal collision which took place earlier this month.
The incident happened when Elizabeth Ybarra was driving in the area of Madsen Avenue and Amigo Drive in Parlier. At the same time, a 13-year-old girl was walking home from school in a marked crosswalk.
Police said the driver then struck the Parlier Junior High School student as she crossed the intersection. The Fresno Bee and FOX 26 News wrote that the accident occurred on February 10 at around 6:20 p.m.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and found the pedestrian down on the ground. The 7th-grade student sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Meanwhile, police added that Elizabeth Ybarra stopped and stayed at the site following the incident.
Officers determined that she was inattentive at the time and failed to see the girl walking in the crosswalk. They soon arrested and booked the motorist into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.
