Speeding Driver Kills 1, Injures 2 Others
ELK GROVE, California (July 8, 2016) – A deadly multi-vehicle collision took place on Laguna Boulevard Friday afternoon, according to The Sacramento Bee.
The crash occurred about 5:15 p.m. near the intersection of Laguna Boulevard and Laguna Oaks Drive.
As per the article, police said an SUV that was allegedly speeding rear-ended a Toyota Prius which had slowed in stop-and-go traffic during rush hour. The impact prompted a chain reaction with five more vehicles.
Police affirmed that the male driver of the Prius was killed in the wreck. He was identified as 63-year-old Jeffrey Fields, of Elk Grove.
Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV and two other parties were transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
