ELK GROVE (August 11, 2016)- According to a police report, a woman identified as Shirley Knight, 82, of Elk Grove, has been identified as the victim killed in a car accident Tuesday early evening.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Promenade and Lent Ranch parkways at roughly 4:00 p.m.
Shirley Knight was the driver of a vehicle headed southbound along Promenade before attempting to make a left turn onto Lent Ranch triggering a collision with the driver of a northbound truck.
Knight tragically did not survive the collision and was declared to have died at the scene.
The other driver was uninjured.
At this time, police officials are investigating liability as it remains unclear which driver had the right of way.
