Motorcyclist Injured in Emeryville Hit-and-Run Crash on Interstate 80 Near Powell
EMERYVILLE, CA (August 26, 2021) – A motorcyclist was injured after a hit-and-run crash on the Interstate 80 in Emeryville.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Thursday morning. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 9 a.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the motorcyclist for an unknown reason in Emeryville. The two crashed on the westbound side of the Interstate 80, just west of Powell Street.
Motorcycle Rider Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the motorcycle down and the rider in the center divider as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then treated the victim for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the incident. Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the other driver did not stop to render aid to the rider and fled the area. Officers forced the westbound lanes of the Interstate 80 to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the Emeryville hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
