Teenager Killed in Sylmar Crash is Identified
SYLMAR, Calif. (November 28, 2022) – Emilio Tenorio, 18, died in a two-vehicle crash on Foothill Boulevard late Sunday morning near the Vallarta Supermarket.
The crash occurred about 11:50 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27th in front in front of 13820 Foothill Boulevard, according to the CBS Los Angeles and ABC 7 News.
The young man was driving a 2003 Silver Ford Mustang southbound on Foothill Boulevard when another motorist in a Toyota Prius exited the supermarket parking lot and into the path of Emilio Tenorio’s vehicle.
Emilio Tenorio swerved to avoid hitting the Toyota and veered into northbound lanes where his sedan crashed head-on into a silver 2000 Toyota Tundra pickup truck. The sedan went on it crash into a pole before it came to a stop.
Police and Los Angeles firefighters responded, but sadly the teenager died at the scene. Meanwhile, the 56-year-old man driving the pickup truck suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash. Paramedics took him to a hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, detectives are looking for the driver of the silver Prius as they failed to stop after causing a no-contact traffic collision. The car kept driving southbound Foothill Boulevard after the collision.
Authorities closed down a portion of Foothill Boulevard to investigate the cause of the crash and liability.
