Woman Killed in Crash with Suspected DUI Driver is Identified
MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (July 12, 2023) — Emillianne Audler, 20, died in a head-on crash in Madera Acres Monday on Ellis Street near Fairview Street.
A suspected DUI driver was traveling on the wrong side of the road and crashed into her car, according to ABC 30 News.
The two-vehicle collision occurred around 4 a.m. on July 10th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Michael Messer, 38, was driving a full-size black Chevrolet pickup truck and reportedly veered into oncoming traffic and collided with Emillianne Audler’s silver Chevrolet Malibu sedan. The 20-year-year-old woman driving the car died at the scene and both vehicles were left with major front-end damage.
The man from the pickup truck suffered major injuries and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.
The man was not wearing a seat belt and police suspect he was impaired at the time of the crash. Messer reportedly had two prior DUIs and a suspended license, according to ABC 30 News.
Investigators are working on the case and closed down Ellis Street between Fairview Street and Country Club.
The case remains under investigation.
