Google employee killed in bus accident near campus
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (Nov. 7, 2018) — Emily Hong has been identified as the Google employee who was struck and killed by the company’s shuttle bus at the intersection of Charleston Road and Huff Avenue, directly across from the Googleplex campus.
The fatal crash was reported Monday evening around 6:45pm
First responders tried to administer CPR to Hong at the scene, but she died of her injuries.
“We are devastated to learn of the tragic passing of a member of our Googler family,” a statement from Google said. “Emily worked in the finance organization and was beloved by her colleagues — she brought an incredible spark to Google. She was inquisitive, creative, analytical, positive, generous and kind — our deepest condolences are with her family and friends.”
