Emmanuel Espinoza, 34, Killed in Firebaugh Crash on Highway 33
FIREBAUGH, CA (June 27, 2021) – A head-on crash killed Emmanuel Espinoza near Highway 33 and Douglas Avenue in Firebaugh.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office identified the 34-year-old Los Banos man as one of the two drivers in the fatal wreck last week on Sunday.
The incident happened on June 20 when a pickup truck was traveling north on Highway 33 in Firebaugh. At the same time, another pickup towing an alfalfa hay rake was going south.
2 Pickup Trucks Collide Near Douglas
For an unknown reason, the northbound truck crossed into the southbound lane. In the process, the two vehicles collided head-on near Douglas Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol said both cars became engulfed in flames as a result of the collision. Deputies said Emmanuel Espinoza was driving one of the trucks involved in the Firebaugh crash.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then pronounced Emmanuel Espinoza and the other motorist dead at the scene.
The Merced Sun Star and Your Central Valley wrote that the accident took place at around 5:48 a.m. The cause of the fatal Firebaugh collision is still under investigation.
