Emmanuel Guevara Killed in Crash on Highway 111 in Mecca
MECCA, Calif. (May 12, 2025) – Emmanuel Guevara, 45, is one of two drivers who died Thursday afternoon following a crash on Highway 111 in Mecca.
Two Killed in Mecca Collision on Highway 111
The two-vehicle crash happened just after 12 p.m. on May 8th on State Route 111, just south of Avenue 68, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP report stated the southbound driver of a blue Honda Civic reportedly merged into the northbound lane to pass a slower-moving vehicle. That’s when the Honda crashed head-on into a driver in a blue Acura TL.
The Acura overturned on a dirt shoulder next to the highway, and the crashed Honda was blocking the roadway.

Emergency responders confirmed the deaths of both drivers at the scene. Meanwhile, a passenger from the Honda was airlifted by helicopter to Desert Regional Medical Center with undisclosed injuries.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner identified Emmanuel Guevara of Mecca as one of the drivers who died. However, the name of the second motorist killed in the crash has not been released, pending notification of their relatives.
Finally, the CHP is heading up an investigation into the crash and they would like witnesses to call Officer Perez at (760) 772-5300.
