4 Injured in Empire Crash at Highway 132 and Bent Road
EMPIRE, CA (April 3, 2022) – Several were injured after a DUI crash at Highway 132 and Bent Road in Empire.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Sunday night. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 9:17 p.m. near Modesto.
The incident happened when the driver of a black SUV pulled over on the shoulder. The car then went the wrong-way and pulled out into traffic.
The SUV then slammed head-on into another vehicle in Empire. They crashed at the intersection of Highway 132, known as Yosemite Boulevard, and Bent Road.
2 Cars Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found possible four people hurt. At least one of them sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the Doctors Medical Center for treatment. The report did not release the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP believed that the motorist who caused the incident was under the influence. Officers forced Highway 132 to shut down in both directions at Bent Road for an hour following the wreck.
The Empire crash is still under investigation.
