
Motorcyclist Killed in Encino Crash on 101 Freeway Near White Oak
LOS ANGELES, CA (February 21, 2023) – A crash killed a motorcyclist on the 101 Freeway near White Oak Avenue in Encino.
According to the FOX 11 News and KTLA News, the tragic accident took place on Tuesday night. Officers reported the wreck on February 21 shortly before 8 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol said the motorcycle rider and a white Ford Explorer collided for an unknown reason in the Encino neighborhood. The two crashed on the eastbound the 101 Freeway near White Oak Avenue.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
The motorcyclist became trapped beneath the SUV as a result of the collision. The incident happened by the Haskell Avenue exit and just west of the interchange with the 405 Freeway.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then rescued the trapped victim. Medical personnel soon pronounced the rider dead at the scene.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the car ended up hurt following the wreck.
Officers forced the eastbound lanes of the 101 Freeway to shut down near White Oak after the collision. The cause of the fatal Encino crash is still under investigation.
