Wrongful Death Investigation
Police are reviewing the circumstances that caused this collision and are seeking witnesses. What we know at this time is the suspect didn’t stop to help the girl, but was later located and now faces criminal hit-and-run charges.
The loss of a loved one in a collision is not only a tragic loss, but there will also be a heavy financial toll on the surviving family members. This can compound the tragedy and make things much more difficult. There are often medical expenses, lost wages, property damage and funeral expenses. The family may wish to file a wrongful death claim to recover these expenses. It’s important to note that it’s quite common for insurance companies to try and avoid paying out a claim. They may also make an offer to settle for far less than the full amount owed.
