Erick Bartlett Bakersfield Hit-and-run Pedestrian Accident on Edison Highway

Driver Struck, Killed Bakersfield Man, 26

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (June 23, 2023) — Erick Mikail Bartlett, 26, of Bakersfield, died a week ago in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Edison Highway, just east of Webster Street.

The deadly crash occurred around 3:32 a.m. on June 16th in Bakersfield, according to the Kern County coroner’s office and the Bakersfield Californian.

A driver reportedly struck the Bakersfield man on the highway and fled the scene without stopping to help the young man. Paramedics responded and rushed Erick Bartlettto a Kern Medical Center where he later died at 12:28 p.m., the coroner said.

The California Highway Patrol is heading up an investigation into what happened and they are searching for the suspect.
