Thousand Oaks Man Killed in Malibu Pedestrian Accident
MALIBU, Calif. (Sept. 17, 2021) – Erik Berg, 39, of Thousand Oaks, died in a Malibu pedestrian accident Friday morning on Pacific Coast Highway near Carbon Canyon Road.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner identified him on their website.
Additionally, the deadly crash prompted the closure of a stretch of Pacific Coast Highway, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
An unidentified driver struck the Thousand Oaks man in the roadway about 6 a.m. The crash happened in the 22000 block of Pacific Coast Highway, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
Meanwhile, the motorist involved stopped and remained at the scene. Sheriff’s deputies interviewed the motorist and questioned the person about what led up to the traffic accident.
Also, law enforcement officers closed down PCH in both directions between Carbon Canyon Road and Malibu Canyon Road, according to a news source.
The investigation is ongoing and police will determine liability for the death of Erik Berg.
