Erik Moen, 57, Killed in Long Beach Crash on Southbound 710 Freeway
LONG BEACH, CA (May 15, 2022) – A car crash killed Erik Moen on the 710 Freeway in the city of Long Beach.
The coroner’s office identified the 57-year-old Yorba Linda man as the victim of the fatal wreck which took place on Saturday morning.
The incident happened when Erik Moen was riding a vehicle which collided with another in Long Beach. The California Highway Patrol said two crashed on the southbound 710 Freeway.
2 Injured in Wreck
The fire department reported that a truck and a car were involved in the collision near Long Beach Boulevard and Del Amo Boulevard.
The truck rolled onto its side while the car became engulfed in flames upon impact. The Long Beach Post and My News LA wrote that the accident occurred on May 14 shortly after 5:50 a.m.
Erik Moen died at the scene of the crash. Two more people ended up hurt as a result of the wreck. Paramedics soon took them to a hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the southbound lanes of the 710 Freeway to shut down for several hours following the wreck. The cause of the Long Beach crash is still under investigation.
