Pickup Truck, SUV Crash Head-on in Nuevo
NUEVO, Calif. (June 5, 2018) — Erik Rodriguez Santos, 33, of San Jacinto, was identified as the victim of a head-on collision was reported Tuesday morning on the Ramona Expressway at Hansen Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash took place about 6:23 a.m. this morning between a black 2014 Dodge Challenger and a white 2018 Ford F-350 pickup truck. People were laying in the roadway witnesses told the CHP in the 911 call.
The report states that at least one person died and another person was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries. There were no others in either vehicle. The eastbound lanes were completely blocked by the collision and CHP officers issued a SigAlert for the crash.
Fatal Accident Investigation
Police are investigating this collision to determine fault. At this time, there are many unanswered questions such as whether either of the drivers was speeding or violating any traffic laws.
