Erik Woodward ID’d as Pedestrian Killed in Highway 29 Crash
NAPA, Calif. (April 15, 2019) — Erik Keith Woodward, 25, of Napa, died Saturday night as he was crossing Highway 29 and was struck by an oncoming SUV.
The collision took place about 9:12 p.m. on April 13. Fernando Morales, 51, of Concord was driving the SUV at freeway speeds when the accident occurred. The driver attempted to avoid hitting the pedestrian who was crossing just south of First Street.
The Concord man suffered moderate injuries and was treated by paramedics. It’s unknown if the driver was taken to a hospital for further treatment or not.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation to determine fault.
