Erlinda Fernandez, 68, Killed in Palmdale Crash on 14 Freeway
PALMDALE (September 29, 2018) – Two women were killed after a traffic collision along the 14 Freeway on Saturday morning, according to The Antelope Valley Times and KTLA.
The deceased parties have been identified as 61-year-old Rosario B. Agmata and 68-year-old Erlinda B. Fernandez. Agmata was a Lancaster resident whole Fernandez was from the Philippines.
As per the reports, California Highway Patrol said the two were riding in a Toyota Highlander when they became involved in a minor rear-end crash with another vehicle.

For an unknown reason, the driver of the Toyota, Agmata, sped off and slammed into the back of an attenuator truck located within a closed construction zone on the right shoulder of the freeway.
The roof of the Highlander became detached upon impact, and the vehicle ultimately struck a wall on the side of the road. Both Agmata and Fernandez died at the scene.
Witnesses claimed that the Toyota was going about 90 mph prior to the crash which occurred on the northbound side of the freeway near Palmdale Boulevard just after 5 a.m.
The incident remains under investigation.

Based on the news report, the woman driving the Toyota Highlander will be held liable for causing the tragic collision. The motorist sped off after being involved in a separate traffic incident.
