Erna Dobson, 87, Killed in Corning Crash Near South Avenue and Kirkwood Road
CORNING, CA (March 9, 2022) – Erna Dobson was killed after a car crash killed near South Avenue and Kirkwood Road in Corning.
The coroner’s office identified the 87-year-old Corning woman as the victim in the fatal wreck which took place on Monday.
The incident happened when Erna Dobson was riding as a passenger in a 2015 Chrysler 200 going east on South Avenue in Corning. At the same time, a 2000 Ford F150 was traveling west.
2 Cars Collide
The driver of the Chrysler, 62-year-old William Dobson, then made a left turn onto Kirkwood Road. The The California Highway Patrol said in the process, the Los Molinos man collided with the pickup truck.
Erna Dobson sustained major injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics rushed her to the Enloe Medical Center in Chico, where she soon died.
The Red Bluff Daily News wrote that the accident occurred on May 7 shortly before 6:30 p.m. CHP did not disclose if William Dobson and the teenage boy driving the Ford ended up hurt following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Corning crash is still under investigation.
