MORENO VALLEY, California (July 17, 2014) — A driver died Tuesday afternoon in a single-vehicle traffic accident at Barclay Drive at Ironwood Avenue, according to a press release by the Riverside County Fire Department.
About 4:29 p.m., CHP officers and CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to the crash and found the driver trapped in the wreckage. Firefighters had to cut and rescue the driver and then transport the person by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment of major injuries. He died at the hospital about 5:03 p.m.
MORENO VALLEY ACCIDENT STATISTICS
Six people were killed and 610 injured in 2011 traffic accidents in Moreno Valley, according to the latest statistics provided by the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Report. Additionally, there were 186 people killed and 7,262 injured in crashes throughout Riverside County in 2011, the report said.
