Ernesto Camarillo ID’d as Pedestrian Killed on I-805 Freeway
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (November 30, 2020) – Ernesto Camarillo, 28, of San Diego, died Tuesday night when he was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 805 Freeway in the Lincoln Park area of San Diego, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
The pedestrian, identified as Camarillo, was allegedly involved in a road rage incident with another motorist, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Police were told that Camarillo allegedly got out of a black SUV and struck the 911 caller’s windshield with his fist.
Just moments later, Camarillo was struck by an oncoming vehicle and he died at the scene.
The fatal pedestrian accident happened on the I-5 Freeway between Imperial Avenue and Market Street.

It’s unknown at this time if there were witnesses to the collision besides the involved driver from the road rage incident. The report did not provide details about the driver that struck the pedestrian. Also, the CHP report stated there may have been more than one vehicle that hit Camarillo.
Investigators are working to find out the exact circumstances that led to the deadly pedestrian accident. Witnesses are encouraged to contact the CHP to help them with their ongoing investigation.
