Pedestrian Killed in I-5 Freeway Crash
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (August 21, 2023) – Ernie Lopez, 23. died in a pedestrian accident on the Santa Ana 5 Freeway early Friday in East Los Angeles.
He was identified by Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The California Highway Patrol reported the crash around 4:45 a.m. on the southbound freeway at the Ditman Avenue and Indiana Street exit.
The young man was pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP said.
Authorities closed down all traffic lanes of the southbound freeway to allow the CHP to conduct its investigation into the fatality crash.
