Esai Corro , 33, ID’d as Suspect in Napa DUI Crash at Big Ranch and El Centro
NAPA, CA (December 13, 2021) – Authorities detained Esai Corro after a DUI crash at Big Ranch Road and El Centro Avenue in Napa.
The California Highway Patrol determined that the 33-year-old Napa man was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck occurred on Sunday.
The incident began when Esai Jared Corro was driving a Jeep Cherokee south on Big Ranch Road in Napa. At the same time, a Chevrolet Silverado was backing out of a driveway in the area.
CHP said a Toyota Prius stopped to give way to the Chevrolet. In the process, the Jeep struck the rear of the Prius at the intersection with El Centro Avenue.
2 Men Injured in Car Crash
The impact forced the Toyota into a ditch while the Cherokee continued forward. The Napa Valley Register wrote that the Jeep ultimately slammed into Silverado.
The driver of the Prius, 69-year-old Gregory Schmitz, survived with major injuries. Paramedics took the Napa man to the Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center for treatment.
Esai Corro and the motorist in the pickup, a 25-year-old Marysville man, sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. The accident took place on December 12 at about 8:42 p.m.
Meanwhile, CHP took Esai Corro to the same hospital for further aid and soon arrested him on suspicion of DUI causing injury. They booked him into the Napa County jail.
The Napa DUI crash is still under investigation.
