ESCONDIDO, California (October 19, 2016) – According to an article by NBC San Diego, a 25-year-old male passenger sustained severe injuries following a solo-car crash on Interstate 15 freeway early Wednesday morning.
As per the article, a 2005 Saab was traveling northbound on the highway just north of Via Rancho Parkway just after 2 a.m. Suddenly, the Saab veered off its lane, continued through a fence, slammed into a tree and flipped over onto its roof. The vehicle came to a rest in the parking lot near BJ’s restaurant at Westfield North County Mall.
Emergency crews were immediately dispatched to the crash site. They found a 25-year-old male passenger suffering in several injuries, he was rushed to Palomar Hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.
Further, officers affirmed the Saab driver, later identified as 20-year-old Caley M. Coyne, was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence of alcohol.
