2 Critically Injured in Escondido Semi-Truck, Car Crash
ESCONDIDO, Calif. (April 21, 2021) — An Escondido crash happened Thursday on the Interstate 15 Freeway, near Del Lago Boulevard.
Furthermore, the crash happened about 4:14 a.m. on April 22nd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A small black sedan collided underneath a semi-truck leaving two people trapped with major injuries. The CHP did not state why the car allegedly crashed into the back of the big rig truck.
2 Hospitalized Major Injuries in Escondido
The Escondido Fire Department responded and extricated two people trapped in their vehicle. Emergency responders spent roughly an hour to free the victims. Both were transported to hospitals in critical condition. However, the CHP report does not provide the age, gender or identity of the injured people.
The truck driver remained on scene of the Escondido crash on the Interstate 15 Freeway. The person provided a statement to investigating CHP officers. There were no other injuries from the crash.
Meanwhile, several lanes of the roadway were blocked due to the Escondido crash on the Interstate 15 Freeway.
Finally, investigators will determine fault for the Escondido car and truck crash.
