Boy Killed in Hit-and-Run Collision at Bear Valley Parkway and Grand Avenue
Escondido, CA (June 30, 2022) – A 14-year-old boy died following a suspected hit-and-run crash that occurred in the area of Bear Valley Parkway and Grand Avenue.
On June 25, Saturday, the juvenile was reportedly walking inside a crosswalk at the intersection in Escondido. For reasons still unclear, an oncoming motorist failed to slow down and struck the boy.
Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Escondido
The KUSI News published an article online reporting the juvenile sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash. Shortly after 9:27 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location and found the boy lying in the roadway. Paramedics rushed the patient to Palomar Medical Center, where he later sadly succumbed to his injuries and died. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, our sources indicated the driver involved in the horrible crash fled the scene. Detectives continue to gather information to identify and locate the hit-and-run suspect.
