Escondido: Fatal Car Crash at SR-78 and Rock Springs Road

At Least 1 Killed in Collision on Highway 78

Escondido, CA (April 27, 2023) – One person died following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of State Route Highway 78 and Rock Springs Road Thursday, April 27.

The California Highway Patrol group reported two vehicles crashed into each other in the eastbound side of the highway in Escondido. Our sources indicated the catastrophic collision involving a blue Camaro, and a white Chevrolet Silverado. The force from the impact left both cars disabled near the center divider.

CHP logged the case at approximately 5 p.m.

Deadly Traffic Accident in Escondido

When emergency crews arrived, they immediately rendered aid to all parties found at the scene. Authorities later confirmed one person sadly died in the crash. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.

Several factors surrounding the unfortunate event have not been revealed thus far. At this time, detectives continue to investigate exactly how and why the deadly accident happened at Highway 78 and Rock Springs Road in Escondido.
