
Passenger Trapped in Vehicle After Crash with Semi-Truck
ESCONDIDO, Calif. (July 30, 2024) — A three-vehicle car crash happened Tuesday in Escondido, along the Interstate 15 Freeway, just south of State Route 78 in San Diego County.
The traffic accident occurred at around 5:10 PM on Tuesday evening on July 30th 2024, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A teal Toyota Prius, a blue Mazda, and a semi truck were all involved in the accident on the Interstate 15 Freeway. The blue Mazda was allegedly driving in and out of lanes before it slammed into the side of the semi-truck. After that initial collision, the teal Toyota also hit the semi-truck. CHP also reported a passenger involved in the accident could not exit her vehicle.
Paramedics responded and located those with injuries and transported them to a nearby hospital for treatment. Tow trucks were also needed on the scene to remove the damaged vehicles from the freeway.
Investigators are working to determine who is at fault for the Escondido crash on Interstate 15 Freeway in San Diego County.
