Suspected DUI Driver in Lemoore Crash ID’d as Esgar Martinez Vita, 24
LEMOORE, CA (October 14, 2020) – Authorities detained Esgar Vital after an alleged DUI crash along Lemoore Avenue in Lemoore last week.
Police determined that the 24-year-old Hanford man was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs at the time. The collision occurred on Thursday evening, October 8.
The incident began when the vehicle driven by Esgar Martinez Vital was seen swerving in the area. An officer tried a traffic stop but Vital fled.
Police said a short pursuit began and Vital ran a red light at the intersection of North Lemoore Avenue and Cinnamon Drive. The chase happened at around 6:30 p.m.

According to the Hanford Sentinel, the suspect then slammed into another vehicle in the 700 block of North Lemoore Avenue.
Paramedics responded to the scene and rushed the other motorist to a local area hospital with unspecified injuries. The name of the victim and their condition remain undisclosed.
Meanwhile, officials arrested Vital and booked him into Kings County Jail on suspicion of DUI causing injury and evading a police officer causing injury.
Authorities also accused him of evading a police officer while driving the wrong way and driving on a suspended license for DUI. His bail was set at $55,000. The DUI crash is still under investigation.
