1 Dead, 1 Injured in Crash at Yolo County Intersection
ESPARTO, Yolo County (August 10, 2017) – A fatal traffic collision took place in the area of County Road 14 and County Road 87 Wednesday, according to The Sacramento Bee.
The accident was reported at 5:55 p.m. at the intersection, west of Interstate 505 Freeway.
A statement released by California Highway Patrol said a 42-year-old Yuba City woman was driving a Nissan east on County Road 14 approaching the intersection with County Road 87 when she collided with a 2002 Toyota.
The Toyota driven by a 29-year-old man was headed north on County Road 87. The two vehicles entered the intersection apparently at the same time, causing the front of the Nissan to hit the left side of the other car.
Yolo County Fatal Car Accident
Both drivers were rushed to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center for treatment. The man later died. His name has not been yet released pending notification of family, however, CHP described him as a resident of the Yolo County community of Madison.
Meanwhile, officers affirmed that the woman suffered moderate injuries in the wreck. The incident remains under investigation.
