Esteban Gonzalez, 15, Killed in Castaic Crash on Hasley Canyon Road

CASTAIC, Calif. (June 10, 2025) – Esteban Gonzalez, 15, of Castaic, died Monday afternoon after a car he was riding in crashed into a tree on Hasley Canyon Road, just east of Sloan Canyon Road in Castaic.

A teenage driver was also seriously injured and airlifted to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center. Two other passengers with injuries were taken by ambulance to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.

Esteban Gonzalez, the third passenger, died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner.

Fatal Crash Hasley Canyon Road

CHP officers responded to the scene of the accident at 4:30 p.m. on June 9th at Sloan Canyon Road. The four occupants were trapped inside the vehicle after its teen driver veered off the road, the CHP said.

Upon arrival, paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department confirmed the 15-year-old boy dead. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the collision.
