Estela Garza Killed in Indio Pedestrian Accident on Golf Center Parkway

INDIO, Calif. (July 9, 2026) — Estela Garza, 75, of Bermuda Dunes, died following a pedestrian accident on the Fourth of July on Golf Center Parkway in Indio, according to the Riverside County Coroner.

The deadly collision occurred on the night of July 4th when the woman stepped off the center median. She allegedly walked into the path of a northbound Audi around 11 p.m. near Avenue 44, just north of the I-10 Freeway, the Indio Police Department said.

Paramedics responded and the injured woman was transported to a hospital where she later died from her injuries, the report said.

The driver of the white Audi was a 50-year-old man who cooperated with investigators. Finally, the cause of the crash remains under investigation to determine fault.
