Jeep Crashes into Pickup Truck on Herrick Avenue
EUREKA, Calif. (Sept. 30, 2020) — One person is dead after a Jeep crashed into a parked pickup truck Wednesday morning on Herrick Avenue near the Eureka Elks Lodge.
The crash took place about 7:10 a.m. on Sept. 30th, according to the California Highway Patrol. The Eureka Police Department responded to the scene where a Jeep crashed into a parked Ram pickup truck, killing the driver in the SUV. The two-lane, winding roadway is not designed to allow for vehicle parking so it’s unknown at this time if the pickup truck was disabled or illegally parked on the narrow shoulder of Herrick Avenue.
The vehicles were towed from the scene.
The cause of the fatal accident remains under investigation by the CHP to determine fault. The CHP incident number is 00021.
